erin's (very late) favorite songs + albums of 2025!

i normally listen to a lot of emo, but have been branching out this year, thanks to artists like yeule and asian glow. i've followed those two in particular for a few years, but was especially happy about their new releases. evangelic girl is a gun astonishingly has textures and arrangements to rival its potentially career defining predecessor, softscars, and 111011 is the album i've been wanting since discovering asian glow with their weatherday collaboration. i was also happy to see great releases from strawberry hospital, whose songwriting and production i always admire, and weatherday, an artist i hadn't paid much attention to until this year. i was also pleasantly surprised by artists i've discovered this year, like fantasticyouth and hikarisyuyo, and older bands coming out with new material, like wonderful opportunity and odd project.
